Public Transport
North Cornwall has a good bus network. The Atlantic Coaster/number 56 runs between Padstow and Newquay, taking the scenic coast road between the two towns – in summer this is often an open top double decker which offers amazing views of the rugged Cornish coastline on the way. The bus runs from Padstow via Windmill (at the top of Trevone), down to Harlyn and then to St Merryn. After St Merryn, the bus goes through Constantine Bay, stopping outside the shop, then onto Porthcothan and Mawgan Porth before stopping in the centre of Newquay.
The other main route of interest is the Padstow to Wadebridge/Bodmin, the 11A. This goes to the train station at Bodmin Parkway.
HOW ABOUT:
- A walk along the coast, a bite to eat and perhaps a pint or glass of wine or two, then catch the bus back to your house.
- Catch the bus to Padstow with the kids and be able to enjoy it with ample chance to chat!
- For a change, take a trip to Newquay. You could pile into your cars, queue into Newquay, go round and round trying to park ending up in different car parks. Make the journey part of the fun – all go on the bus together!
- Bodmin Parkway railway station – coming or going – give the bus a go.
- Newquay Airport – friends coming to join you, but the weather’s sunny and the surf is looking pretty nice! Why not suggest the bus?
