48 Hours in North Cornwall this Easter – your itinerary

Spring has sprung in Cornwall and it’s the perfect time of year to book a break with us. We have some lovely houses available throughout Easter so wanted to compile some ways to spend the first 48 hours of your holiday. The season is truly waking up and the long days are so welcome. Here’s some inspiration to get you in the mood…

Day One: Coast, coffee & sunset views

Morning: arrive and ease into holiday mode before checking in to your Raintree house

Arrive in North Cornwall and start your break slowly – this is the perfect time of year to avoid rushing. Head towards Padstow and begin with a coffee overlooking the harbour. Easter mornings here perfect when they’re crisp and bright (we hope!) – ideal to watch the boats come and go.

If you’re feeling active, take a gentle stroll along the Camel Estuary – you’re promised to have peaceful water views and it’s a good chance to stretch your legs after travelling

Lunch: Harbour-side bites

For lunch, keep things casual on your first day. Padstow has plenty of relaxed spots for seafood, light lunches or something sweet! Sample some local produce and enjoy the laidback vibe.

Afternoon: Spring air

Spend the afternoon exploring a stretch of the North Cornwall coast before you check in to your home for your stay. Easter is the perfect time for a coast path ramble without the heat of summer.
Popular options include:
A walk along the South West Coast Path near Trevone
A beach stroll at Constantine Bay, where wide sands make for a peaceful wander

Evening: Dinner & sunset

As the day winds down, enjoy an early evening drink somewhere with a view – sunsets along the north coast are particularly beautiful this time of year and hopefully you’ve arrived on a good day!

For dinner, choose a cosy restaurant or pub near Padstow. Easter menus often feature seasonal produce, making it a lovely time to indulge without the bustle of peak season.

Head back to your Raintree house to cosy up for the evening before a good night’s sleep…

Day Two: Spring adventures

Morning: Start day two with a dose of fresh air. Easter mornings are perfect for:

A leisurely breakfast in your fully equipped Raintree house
A longer coast path walk
Exploring quieter coves and beaches
A countryside ramble where spring greenery and birdsong set the tone for the day

If the whole family is staying, Easter often brings local events or seasonal activities, especially at local attractions or National Trust sites.

Lunch: Relaxed and local

Head back towards Padstow or nearby villages for lunch. Some of our favourites are:

The Cornish Arms at St Merryn for a relaxed gastro pub lunch
St Petroc’s Bistro in Padstow for top fresh seafood
Or even some fish and chips outdoors if the weather is on side!

Afternoon: Exploring continued…

Spend day two making the most of where you are! We’d recommend:

A gentle cycle or walk along the Camel Trail
Browsing independent shops or galleries – most of our surrounding villages are home to plenty of small businesses
Head to another beach for a dog walk or play in the sand

Easter is definitely the season for calm and relaxation!

Evening: A home cooked dinner

As you round off day two, enjoy a warming dinner in your Raintree home. Whether it’s a takeaway to be tucked into by the whole family or you fancy cooking some local delicacies yourself, you may even have enough sunshine to sit outside with a glass of something to mull over your day
